My new year resolutions.....

Wishing you all a very happy and fantabulous new year...

Like many i also have lotta resolutions for the new year....
The 2 most important thing which i didnt do properly during this(2008) year is
1.Watching sports
2.Regularly reading the newspaper..
so its my resolution to watch sports and to read the newspaper regularly..

1.Watching sports:

Being an aficionado or should i say i was an aficionado(blame my work-is it????!!!!!),k let me call myself as an aficionado,i watch most of the cricket matches, thanks to the television...when india faces Australia or Pakistan in cricket, tension will be on the peak...I love cricket, not only cricket almost all the sports,be it soccer(plz dont ask me about the league names,i will watch without knowing the rules about the game),hockey(after watching chak de,i started to watch hockey too),motor racing,Formula 1 grand prix(we miss u schumaker),tennis(if u ask me rafa or roger, undoubtedly i will say Roger)..Almost i watch every sport...I cont forget the 2003 word cup between India and Australia,i dont know the indian players prayer's to win the match,i prayed god to shower the rain on the ground, but oops the rain didnt mar the match and the world cup was bagged by Australia...The very next day i had my board exam, computer science exam...Complete frustration(bcoz of match yar) and plz dont ask me about the results i mean the exam results, due to many important factors(like watching the match),i was not able to top any subjects(ahem ahem, this is one among many reasons which i say for not topping any subjects)...But for some months or should i say years i lost the habit of watching sports...I dont know the matches between india or any other country now...I enquire my brother about the match schedules...I dont know the name of the new players...Previously if someone showed me the negative image of the player,i did guess the player name, today even if u show me the photo i fail to recognise who the player is...Atleast from the new year i should watch sports, hope will follow my resolution...

2.Reading the newspaper regularly:

Long long ago(before one year yar) i read each and every page of the newspaper..I am a devout of hindu newsapper so i read the editorial, the open page the sports coulmn everything...The day should begin with the hindu newspaper...i was very much aware of the happenings and most importantly the GK..but today i am really poor at the happenings...When someone say this is happening,i wonder at them and ask is it...Today my GK level is really worse...Hope i will try to read the newspaper regularly from this new year

These are just a few resolution from my list..Hope i will try my best to follow my resolutions...

Once again a happy newyear to you all...

My tour to the metros of India-City 1

I love visting temples and to many new places...India is a lovely country with rich culture, temples and many metropolitan cities...I can count the cities which i have visited, but there are many cities that i have to visit.Hope one day i will quench my desire by visiting all those lovely city...

Thought of writing things which i know about some cities....First let me write about Our Tamil nadu's capital Singara Chennai...Visited this city quite a number of times but ooops havenot visited quite a lot of places there....

Chennai is one among the few metros in india .....Ofcourse it is a hustling, bustling city...A city which can afford cost of living from ordinary mediocre family to posh one...A city with mushrooming IT companies...An elegant city...

We mainly indulge into shopping...City centre and spensers are top few to empty your pockets....I shouldnt forget about Ranganathan street where you can empty your savings....

Feeling bored a walk to Marina(Second largest beach in the world) will give you the peace of mind...Elliot is another beach, where you can visit, also just make your presence in Ashtalakshmi temple and Velanganni church very near to it....Yes how can i forget one more beach its Covelong.....A walk to the beach is always soothing...

Wanna see a movie Mayajal,Inox,Sathyam complex rock with special effects, which will definitely be an eyecandy for us...

Ah being a book lover i have kept it as routine to visit Landmark and grab my favourite book when i visit Chennai....

Being a foodie how can i forget about restaurants....I am not good @ remembering the top restaurants in cheanni,But heard that chennai restaurants rocks with the aroma of southindian food to mexican foods...Lovely pizza corners to satisfy your hunger,i am drooling yar....

Being an aficionado i should not forget to flash our cricket stadium,Yup your are write chidambaram stadium...Nail biting matches were played on this stadium...Hope to see lovely matches from this ground in near future...

I know there are lots and lots of places in chennai....Blame my ignorance, for not knowing many things about the city....Guess one day i will try to explore and visit all those lovely places in chennai....

It's all about my mentors...

"A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others"

Came across this saying while i was surfing through net and ofcourse those lines became my favourite.
I hope after reading the title you would have guessed what my post is all about.I wanna write a post dedicated to my teachers, mentor's who helped or helping
me to attain wisdom.

I am strong in one opinion that a teacher holds the power to mould an ordinary, average student to an extraordinatory person. We gain hatred
towards a subject because the methodology with which the teacher teaches may not be upto the mark...I love some subjects blindly because of the teachers who
took pains to teach me the concepts.K let me not distract from my content.let me share some of my mentors or guru's who always crossed extraordinary levels
according to my perspectives..

1.My parents:

"Matha,pitha,Guru,dheivam"

is the sequence and this saying is perfectly true according to me.My parents are my first Guru.I still remember those days when my mother took pains to
teach be A,B,C etc,The rhymes, the poems, the lessons etc...Parents play a vital role in every child's life. They are the one who always cheer me when i achieve
something and they are the one who always point my mistakes when i am wrong. They teach me how to lead a perfect life..I never saw my parents scolding me till
date...Whenever i feel frustrated i always find a pat on my back and my father always says this "You have got the potent,You will achieve it for sure, dont
worry"...I should say only because of their words i climb my ladder of success, still a long way to go though ...
My parents are my first Guru....Kudos to their perfect teachings...

2.My granny:

My granny she is no more but a lady with all good qualities i have seen on earth.I learnt a lesson "Yinna seidharai oruthal avar nana nannayam
seiduvidal"...The meaning is "Try to help those who didnt help or betrayed you in some way or the other"...I learnt
the meaning of the word "PATIENCE" from her...I can write on and on about my granny....Though she is not alive ,i try to follow the things which she taught
me.

3.My chemistry Sir,

It was during my 12th i guess, for quite some months i had an opportunity to learn chemistry from this sir.I am not good at chemistry, but sir
made me to learn the concepts from the scratch...He taught me from the basic and made me to master the concepts..Though i am not good at chemistry till
today i can vouch that i gained deep interest in that subject only because of my sir.Till date i found some handful of people who really did justice to their
job and this sir is one among some handful of people.Kudos to you sir.

4.My english mam:

It was during my college i happened to meet my english mam...But oops i didnt get an opportunity to study under her, i mean she was not my
english teacher...It was during my first year of college,i heard about elocution competition and i did nominate my name. One fine afternoon i was asked to
meet my english mam. That was the first time i came to know about her..She was so affable, her mellifluous voice did attract me.She motivated me to participate
in the contest.that was my first contest during my college...I did goof to some extent and i did my best to some extent ...Actually the competition was
hosted by our college,so we were eligible only to participate in the contest and we were informed before hand taht we will not be awarded with prizes. My english
mam is a real angel. She told as that she doesnt want to discourage us and she did present me a book...The book is "reaching your potential" by "Norman
Vincent peale",a lovely lovely book...I could find very few teachers who take real pains to motivate the students..My english mam is one such person...I love
her so much...I lost her contact,sigh...But she is my role model...The real Guru i have ever seen...I still respect her like something which i cont put it in
words....

The above mentioned people are some of my gurus or mentors whom i respect a lot...They are my role models...I try to learn from every one
and i am sure i will get some good number of mentors in my life...
"Learning and teaching " is a lifelong process and am sure i will follow it.
I love teaching but i am not into that field, but i will try to be a good mentor whenever i get a situation to teach whatever i know to others...
Happy learning and may all of us get a nice Guru(The teacher) to enlighten our future..:)

The day which i cherish forever

Cool breeze touched my face when i was on my way to office through my office cab.The soothing breeze made me to reminisce my past.It made me to
think my college days especially the day when i got my placement order.

It was during our final year,we heard about our campus placements. The real seriousness started.
We started to study the concepts, practise all those mock apti papers(Correct we had never burnt our mind night lamp before, really it was tough for me to mug
all those things which my poor brain fails to remember). The day arrived we the entire gang of students marched towards the auditorium...We had our apti test
after a quick intro about the company...Tension prevailed on all our faces...We came from our hall still discussing about the apti question..

We wrote our apti by 10am in the morning and was waiting for our results...Tensions to the peak on all our face...Some lost the confidence
,some are Very confident about getting throught the apti, some really had no idea about their performance. It was 6pm in the evening when we heard that the
results were out..We all made our presence near the board...Some felt really happy to see their name, some felt really surprised to see their names(actually
they didnt expect their names to be there)...Some felt really depressed because their name was not on the list...

On what category did i fall???I did my apti quite ok and was expecting my name and ofcourse i did find my name there.I was not really happy
beacuse two of my close intelligent friends name was not on the list...I felt really really bad...They were really depressed...I dont have words to console
them...

The very next day i had my interview...Entered my destination quite late coz i forgot to note my interview timings...Thank god i had my father with
me,who always encourage me with his ever motivating words...Some were studying really hard, some were cool....I saw some of my friends coming out after
completing their interview...All of us approached them and collected quite a lot of questions. To be true we knew the answers for only 10% and 90% of the
question scared us....Whom to contact for the answers??? any help lines that was our attitude....We felt really frustrated, one of my friend who came out
from the interview hall was very depressed, the interviewer screwed her like something...The question ranged from Integral calculus(Who on earth discovered
all these stuff....Once integral calculus scared me during my sleep) to chess(The one we play)....From normal hobby to habitual laws(scientific laws) .For
some the interview went very smoothly, for some it was a bad day...for some it was neither bad nor good...
OMG it was the time for me to enter the room...

Surprised to see two interviewers there...If it was one we could manage but oops i thought "Samapth" ,had no hopes of clearing it when i found
two interviewers there ...First question was "introduce yourself" ...I still giggle on thinking it..I was speaking on and on..The slight transition from
gendral to technical questions started....My interviewer was scanning my marksheets...damn why did i score some reasonable marks in my semester??he started
to ask questions from the subject which fortunately or unfortunately helped me to score max mark...My interview question ranged from carnot engine(Come on
guys, dont ask me the question now coz i forgot the answer),electronics, therodynamics, quantum mechanics(This subject is my weak area,i mean all the subject
which i studied scared me,but this one is the real demon till now..I am poor at 3D and all those stuffs)...That day i felt why on earth did i take
PHYSICS...I always and totally agree physics is a lovely subject, but i dont have the brain to analyse and enjoy the essence of physics...Today i feel bad to
say i am a physics student coz i dont remeber all those Newton laws, dont blame me,blame my brain which fails to remember technical aspects......After half
an hour of goofing some bla bla bla....I came out of the hall...

My father was eager to ask me about my performance...A big question in my mind....How did i do?????Oops i was not in a position to say i did
extremely well or i was not in a position to say extremely bad.....Tension tension tension....I guess it was 5.30pm we were asked to assemble in the
auditorium...My heart started to beat fast...I was gasping for breath...They started to read the names......I realised the peak of tension on my face...I
muttered all the names of god ranging from Vinayak,Jesus to allah...Finally i heard my name Annapoorani...Thank god....That was my first interview and
finally managed to get the offer letter...This is one of my best moment or the day to cherish for ever..But I was not in a position to enjoy,my another friend was not
selected....

Today when i think about all those events i enter back to my college days...I miss all my close friends,Those lovely days....Those mug
concepts..Those newton laws,The lovely college campus,my teachers....Sigh i want all those lovely days back...Sigh i am not looney i know that i will not get
it back but the memories will stay in my mind forever....

My review about Erich siegel-Love story

This post of mine is all about the book Love Story by Erich siegel.I heard a lot from my friends saying this book is the best they have ever read,a very nice book which portrays the love in a beautiful way...I have a list of Umpteen books to read and i added this book too on my list ...Visited a book shop and glanced a book with white wrapper with blue fonts, yes it is the book lover story and finally grabbed it...I always love to read thrillers and this was my first book with romance flavour...

The first page started like this way depicting Jenny's death...confused who was Jenny but decided to flip the pages...This book is all about a love story between a Social science student Oliver who comes from a posh family and a music student Jenny who comes from a normal middle class family.

The thing which i liked the most:

The author has beautifully narrated the love between oliver and jenny.

1.Unlike many stories, this story doesnot end up with love failure, instead it is really nice to read Oliver and jenny getting married.

2.Oliver and Jenny leads a life parting from their parents. They have all those fights, squabbles but still they stay together that's the meaning of perfect love i guess ...In some stories we would read parting of husband and wife after lotta squabbles. But this story is really exceptional.

3.Loved jenny's attitude i mean the way she adjust with her husband who supposedly a stubborn guy in his opinion.People who have read it could very well relate what i meant.

4.Oliver's love towards jenny and Jenny's love towards Oliver...I guess if every husband and wife follow the path of oliver and jenny there will be no divorce or no misunderstanding etc.

The thing which made me so sad:

Being a gal i am naturally emotional.I cry even for a very normal thing. When i read about Jenny's death,i was just flabbergasted, tears from my eyes started to flood.

I dont know about others but i always admire happy endings. If it is a love story i want both the hero and heroines to be together and happy forever...But could not digest Jenny's death...I felt so sad, depressed, wondering how a book made me to mourn(I agree the power of writing now)...

The perfect love between Oliver and Jenny makes me to open my mouth wide and wonder. But jenny's death made me so ill..If Jenny was not dead i would rate this book to be the best...But alas the ending was really sad...I didnt get the enthu for taking the book again and read it for the second time..
I heard Oliver's story is the sequel of the book Love story...Any comments about the book????Ofcourse it's on my list.Hope to read it soon.

mY RANDOM RAMBLINGS

This post of mine is my rambling....yeah random rambling....

1.You know what i have a slippery legs..No no no I am not always slippery at times my legs become slipperty i mean to say in most of the important situations this happens yeah i slip while i walk...I will tell you the situations too...This happened sometimes back Myfriend called me and asked me to come down...I was in upstairs...me being over enthusiastic(believe me) and ofcourse because of my slippery legs, skipped some steps you know what i was skating and finally dashed my friend.....It was a big embarrassment not for me yar it's for my friend because she called me to introduce her friend...It took some 5 minutes to come to normal situation (no no I didn’t have any cough syrup which makes me sedative)i mean after all those skating and dashing,it took time for me to stand in a normal posture...Embarrassments are quite casual yar...My friends always warn me dont slip while walking..Oops that never seems to happen...Its an inborn quality...how can i change tell me ...Next time if u see a gal who slips while walking, dont giggle instead feel pity because that gal may be me...

2.Gal of confusion:

I dont want to create any chaos...."The gal of confusion" is none other than its me...Starting from food till a big decision confusion surrounds me...You damn i mean the confusion...
Should i have to eat Idli with sambhar or with Chutney confusion...Should i have to stay in hostel or should i have to go home confusion...Should i have to study or should i have to discontinue confusion...Should i have to fight with my mom(come on yar silly fights) or should i have to agree with her confusion...Should i have to say "I dont have any idea about this topic" to my brother while he approaches me with his doubt or Should i have to cover up the situation confusion...Should I have to take others opinion or should I have to take my opinion confusion..My god confusion,confusion,confusion....Should I have to write my ramblings or not confusion…finally former did win I mean I did write…

3.I am bit expressive...I mean to say if I find someone who is not feeling well i give an expression "Aiyo whta happened? Are you ok?Shall we visit a doctor"...You know what finally the person will get out of their bed and will say "You dumbo i am normal your expression makes me sick"...On the other hand if i find someone with frustrated mood i will indulge as if i am feeling frustrated ...Finally the person who seemed to be frustrated will console me and will ask me to be normal..Arrey what is this yar...I think this is the result of too much of expression...he he....
I wonder how i struggle to give expression when my mom find faults on me...The dumbo in me makes my mouth shout...

These are some of my random ramblings...Hope if i am not confused,i will definitely will write an expressive post with my slippery legs about the happenings...

Sweets,sweets,sweets

I am a sort of person who love sweets like something...I can have sweets for the whole day,but i never sulk at it...Be it chocolates or desserts my mouth slurps...

Oops many of my friends asked me your post somehow or the other touches something related to food....I totally agree with them...How can u expect a phisophical or techie post from a person who is a glutton and the moment she hears something related to technical aspects she close her ears and says Naah.....The person is none other than its me...

Yeah..I will focus on the topic..Sweets especially the chocolates the brown coloured bar with syrups of sweet colorings coated with dry grapes,nuts..Yummy yummy yummy that's all i can say....I have a natural desire for chocolates...If i get one my mind will wander for more....I will never get contended with chocolates...You know what
I have the habit of tasting the chocolates everyday.... i go to the shop and pick one,the shopkeeper stares at me....Come on guys is it a rule that children alone should eat toffies??Have mercy yar...That doesnt mean i am old when it comes to age,i have just crossed my teen,so i am also a child ahem ahem....

Yeah how can i forget this...Whenever i cross Krishna sweets my mouth will start watering....That Rasmalai mygod i am drooling over it...will never forget to enter and taste it....

The yummy chocolate cakes with browny chocolate syrups...slurp....That is something i love to have...I guess before completing this post i will feel sick for not having the chocolates...this post of mine tempts me to taste a chocolate now...Yeah i will go and have...You people also do the same and have a sweet err nice time ahead....

My Passion.....

"Set your goal and achieve your passion"

No no this is not my saying or advise...SOme great personalities fortunately who became my friends advise me with the above words...Being a very nice person yeah itz me,i never follow their words....

whoever I come acorss or i admire fortunately or unfortunately become a great personality i mean to say they are techie, they are brilliant, they are highly talented bla bla bla..Wondering how all these brainy creatures became my friend..Because i am a kind of person who procrastinate things, who is as sluggish as a sloth and mainly who doesnt have interest to learn things....

It started when i was in college...One of my senior motivated me to prepare for CAT...Thanks to my senior who educated me a lot about CAT and IIM's..After sometimes i had another senior who motivated me for the higher studies in IIT...Too many motivations oops....Too many choices too...But knowingly or unknowingly CAT became my passion....It started from my prefinal year to crack the most competitive exam....Yeah obviously itz CAT,not the animal yar..Common Admission test....

When someone asked me during my prefinal year of college i said "I am preparing for CAT" Thatz great ....During my final year my wellwishers asked me "What you are doing"...I said "I am preparing for CAT"....My god....Even they felt bored of asking me the same question and i felt bored of answering the same answer "I am preparing for CAT"...

Days no no years rolled....Some fewdays back I met my friend...My god she was completely changed i mean...She was lean at college but now????I cont believe my yes....The first question that i asked was "What you are doing now"...Yeah i need a change yar...Always people ask me the same question...so i decided that i should be the first to pose the quesion..She said some bla bla bla...Fine....

After all our enquires and some nonsense talks and mocks, she came up with something i mean some sparkling words....Ah should i have to reveal it????!!!!K embarrassements are quite casual...She said "Hey I am sure you are still preparing for your CAT" right????
A deadlock situation a conflict whether to say yes or no...If yes she would surely giggle at me,If no she would pity me...I hate someone who pity me...So silence seemed to be the best answer for that moment....

just few days back i heard that one of my friend who started to sit with me for CAT is now doing her MBA in a top B school...Wow!!!that was my reaction...Other gal she is doing her MBA from top varsity in the world ...
Great!!!!that was my reaction....Dont ask about me i am in "CAT(i mean the animal CAT) on the wall" situation....

I learnt that mere passion will never fetch me to my dream place...Tonnes and loads of hardwork is a mandatory flavour for success....

My dear friends if you ever come across me next year, you dont have to strain yourself to ask the same question, because i will voluntarily tell my answer "I am preparing for CAT"...K k let me stop my nonsense talks and be serious atleast from one....

Hope atleast one day i will make my dream come true....(Dream of preparing for CAT naaaaaahhhhh Dream of cracking CAT)

Sweet one....

If you ask me what is your favourite movie.Undoubtedly without any confusion ,the first movie that comes to my mind among plethora of others is "Taare zameen par"...What a fantastic movie it is!...

After hearing a lot about the movie,I felt that, I should watch it and was waiting for my change ...One fine day got an opportunity to watch it...The thing that attracted me the most is the caption"EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL".

The crux of this movie is ,every child is special and have their own unique potential. The message I took after watching this movie is ,it may be your child or brother or sister or anyone younger than you.Dont bully them when they fail to top it.Instead try to understand their potential and work with them to understand what is pulling them.Have a good rapport ,be a good friend and understand their potential and their weakness.Affection and love are two strong medicine which can solve any type of problem...It's,We the elders, to mould the child and should their potential to the world.

Coming to the movie.Ishant is not a normal child and who struggles to manage his studies.Aamir khan is the mentor and who brings all the potent from this child to the world ,when everyone isolated this child .How he educates the child and brings out his potential, you have to watch the movie.

The way Darsheel Safary(Ishant) and Aamir Khan acted is really appreciable. A very nice movie. If you have not watched the movie yet please do watch it.

PS:The first half of the movie made me to become emotional.I could not control my tears from my eyes. PSS:A very very nice movie to watch. The title is very much true. Taare zameen par-EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL
This is my first post....
I love writing and so i am here...
Will post my scribblings now and then here...
I welcome you all to my space.
