I should have posted it last week..Bit held with work and I dont want to keep it in my drafts...So here I post...
Some people enter into your life and vanish in a fraction of seconds leaving no marks of foot prints...Some people travel in your life and depart in the mid way, leaving you something to linger ,but there are very few people who enter your life ,make a drastic impact in you and depart leaving ya a great void...All I wanted to speak is about one such person...my granny....unfortunately she is no more with us today....Jan 28th is her death anniversary...So here I come with a writeup about her.
She was one person to whom I shared anything under the sun and anything above the earth...She was the one to teach me the morals and ethnic values...It is fact that I admire some handful of people and no doubt my granny tops the list.
When I was a kid,I used to pester her and ask for stories...She never sulked and described about Krishna Leela...From then on Krishna stories became my staple diet..I heard Vanabhojana and Kalinganardhana stories from her whenever I felt bored...Even today I am totally addicted to krishna stories ...
I always see in awe when a woman raises to a great designation and I strongly say that a woman need to shatter trillion obstacles that comes on her way...And my granny is one such person who shattered obstacles and brought her 3 children to a great position, when her husband reached the heavenly aboard at her tender age...
She always used to utter "Never hurt those who did hurt you"...Every time I feel like yelling ,she came to me and advised me the advantages of attaining patience...She was one person whom I looked for whenever I was entangled with stress..
It was a hot and humid day...I was all set to have my lunch at school...I was called by my mam and I was surprised to see my cousin there..Only later I came to know about my granny's sudden demise...I was pushed into a state where I could not express my emotions and my feelings were standstill...I wanted to cry but I could not...I didnot go near her deadbody...I didnot cry and touch her hands that day....I was completely odd on her death...
But I wish ,I should have wept that day, because even today when i think of her tears starts to roll from my cheek..I missed a person and I bet no one can fulfill her position...She was my motivator,a mentor,a guru,an optimist above all my granny...Alas she left me so early...I am sorry God,but you are very cruel...You took the most beloved person from me....
I am sure my words will never suffice to express things about my granny...All I can say is I miss a great person...But she is my goddess and she will be with me in ma life and guide me throughout..
Avva may your soul rest in peace always and always be my beacon and guide me throughout..

The Namesake:Book review
The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.
The book "The Namesake" was resting amongst other untouched books in my shelf for a while.Rummaged haphazardly to take the book "Shantaram", all of a sudden the books on my rack collapsed and there I was pulled into a task of arranging and making it tidy. The Namesake caught my eyes and I read and Voila, here you go with a review.
The story revolves around few characters like Ashima Ganguly,Ashoke Ganguly,Nikhil aka Gogol and Sonia.Ashima hails from an orthodox bengali family...She was married to Ashoke Ganguly. After their marriage she was asked to move to an alien land with her husband.
She spent her major part of her life in Kolkatta and there she was entangled to migrate to a new world,a world full of new faces, new culture, new language et al.She bades goodbye to Kolkatta and moves to US.
She still maintains to wear saree and never foregts her vermillion. The author has beautifully explained the life of an orthodox couple during 1960 and who lives in abroad .It was when expressing love between married couple is totally out of their mind.
It is a bengali custom to have two names for a person .One considered as a good name, the other as a pet name. Ashima and Ashoke were blessed with a male baby. They call him as Gogol and adjudge it as his pet name. They wait for a good name from Ashima's granny...But destiny plays and his pet name becomes his good name. Ashoke names his child after his favourite writer Nikolai Gogol.
Gogol shows great aversion towards his name and he changes it to Nikhil. His sister was named as Sonali who was later called as Sonia. All of a sudden his father's death bring a great void in their life.He comes to know the fact behind his name...He realizes that name matters least and there are lots more to encounter other than his own name. But everything goes outta his hand and that brings a great emptiness in him and which makes him to think about his father and his name.
At the end after reading the book,I felt name is just for namesake and all you need to succeed in your life is morale and principles(It is my saying ,not from the book mind ya)...loved the character Ashima, her perfect Indian thoughts and culture.
To me "The Namesake" is an Okeyish sort of book.Expected something big from the author but after flipping through the pages I found that something is missing.
I am in due to read "Unaccustomed Earth"...Expecting lots from the book. Also I have added "The Namesake" movie in my never ending must to watch movie lsit.

Thatz how life is....
There are times when ya are pushed into situation, which lets ya to put your head down in disgust and a caustic lump crawls on your throat and finally ya convince yourself by saying "Its how the world is and its how some people are like"...There is no room for a change which ya could make and which would obviously change things topsy turvy. All ya would do is,get accustomed to it and move further on your path called life.
1.Some people are so selfish and are good at projecting themselves .No offense about name or fame...I cannot deny the fact that at times I am pulled into situation where I need to be selfish,I guess that happens to most of us and it is quite agreeable too...But I see people who possess this quality and are ready to do anything under the sun,if at all its gonna create some benefit to them...I can bear the selfishness to an extent but not the projecting quality....They project their qualities to a great extentand create a hype about them...May be I lack the quality called projecting and so I am yet to know more or comprehend about the same.
2.These days some people are more accustomed to respect money rather than people.Perhaps money may help them to get anything but will they get the love and affection outta money ..I am still pondering about the magic of money but one thing I am sure about is,sometimes money changes a person to a different persona.
3.May be I am not a great listener but still I love to hear others speak....But these days I am hearing people who blow their own trumpets...At times itzz sooooo disgusting to hear the same cliched their own ostentatious liners....Some people even go beyond and never let ya to open your mouth whenever ya have your own opinion to cast ...
4.What is the meaning of the word help??Help someone when they are in need and proudly bellow the deed of their helping tendency to others??Is that the meaning of help??errr these days I am hearing all new definitions of the word Help..
5.Most of our life,we are bothered about others ,others and only others...Little do we get a chance to take our own path devoid of others...Sounds odd but thatz t fact...We are prone to do things which we dont like just for the sake of others...Thatz what life is I guess.
6.I dont know but I hate pompous activity...I could not warrant or comprehend my views but I am for sure that I hate all the pompousness..
7.Some people are crystal clear about their path and destination.I cont help but look at them only in awe.I am always pushed into confusions and think beyond my little brain's capacity...Am I travelling in a path for which I cherished for?Is my door of eternal and perpetual longing for things far or near?I am still more confused and in the route of pondering...
awwww ya many ask y soooo much of melancholy and dismay in this post, but all I can say "Thatz how life is...."

Solitude is bliss!!!
A vain attempt for a poem...Drafted this poem in 10 minutes...
The moon was glittering
And the air was pure
Stars smile with sparkling light
Makes the earth a beauty queen
With coffee on my hand
and thoughts to linger
I lose myself somewhere
To attain an ethernal peace
Stress seems far away
worries are not near my eyes
Least do i bother about my life
when i was lost in solitude
Silvery dew touch my skin
To remind me of reality
With no heart i get back
I vouch solitude is a bliss!!!
The moon was glittering
And the air was pure
Stars smile with sparkling light
Makes the earth a beauty queen
With coffee on my hand
and thoughts to linger
I lose myself somewhere
To attain an ethernal peace
Stress seems far away
worries are not near my eyes
Least do i bother about my life
when i was lost in solitude

With no heart i get back
I vouch solitude is a bliss!!!

Great saint,Music and temple visit....
1.Pestering is what i do to my friends and family and so i was pestering my bro to take me to "Avatar" but in vain...Height of boredom perhaps and so I was scouring through the pile of CD's and cassettes. One CD caught my eyes and the title read as "Life of Kanchi Sri Chandrasekara Saraswathi" fondly known as "Mahaperiyaval".Personally i have faith in "Adi Sankarar"-A great person behind "Advaitha" and "Mahaperiyaval"...Dropped the CD into my computer and for the rest one hour,i was totally glued to my screen.
He was christened as "Swaminathan".As a child he had great interest in studies and music. He admirmed his cousin who had faith in Sri Adi Sankara.
One fine day,a surprise did reach Swaminathan's family and the news said his cousin would be throned as 67th Acharya in Kanchi peetam. But later due to his cousin's sudden demise,Swaminathan who was later called as "Sri Chandrasekara Sarawathi" was adjudged as 68th Acharya in Kanchi peetam. He accepted the throne at the tender age of 13 and from then on he never visited his parents.
A person who adored simplicity,A person who walked many kilometers through his feet and strictly avoided all the luxurious things,A person who was eminent in almost 17 languages including some foreign languages,A person who gave equal importance to all the religion,A person who was a Sanskrit scholar,A person who always gave importance to education,A person who travelled most part of India through his feet and met many scholars,A person who always served for the poor people is none other than "Sri Chandrasekara Sarawathi" aka "Mahaperiyaval".He reached the heavenly adode at the age of 100,which was a great loss for the entire mankind.
He is not amongst as today, but his preachings and divine sayings will always guide us to attain the path of divinity. After watching the CD,i was so emotional and tears started to flow from my eyes. The one hour was simply a great time.
2.It is Marghazi masam and my father does his pooja at 4am.I listen lots of Kacheri's in TV.Today it was an eyecandy.I watched "Marghazi Mahavutsav" program by "Vishaka Hari".She is my favourite and i so much admire and respect her.I adore
her madisar and nose ring. Her mellifluous voice is no par...She is a multifaceted person with loads of talent i would say.I can go on and on about her....Ok let me come back to the program. She took the concept "Kuchela Charithram" which is again about my favourite "Krishna" and for one hour i was completely glued. It was again a worthy one hour to cherish.I said to myself that i have to purchase some CD's of her which is related to Krishna and experience the full rasa.Probably within a month I should do that(nooooo its not going to be ma resolution..No more to resolutions from this year)
3."Jenma sabhalya adeiden"-Wanna know the reason, here we go....It was my long time wish to visit "Uthamarkovil" and my father took me to the temple on the new year day.It is a temple famous for Saraswathi and Brahma. The main deity Sarawathi
here is popularly know for "Nyanam" and the goddess holds Olaichuvadi instead of Veenai. And it is my favourite temple. One could find separate Sannadi for almost most of the god and goddess here.Do visit the temple once and get the divine
blessingsfrom goddess. And how did i forget this,i did get the prasadam and it was Chakrapongal...If i think about prasadam,my mouth starts watering..Lemme forget the prasadam part.
On the whole it was some of the motley of events and at the end of the day,i did experience some eternal satisfaction.I am indeed a person who loves visiting temple and who loves music,so it was definitely a nice time for me.
Ciao for now....Will buzz shortly....

Au revoir,Bonne chance
Skim further to know further!!!
With christmas and new year around the corner ,i break my hibernation and come up with a blog of retrospection by looking the rolled days or months of 2009.(Ok I got you right, still we have 21 days for new year, but as usual lemme be an visionary ahem!!!)
Shades of elation:
Little good deeds create’s elation. Fortunate to experience the shades of merriness .Bright rays of sun dawns at every moment to remind the medicine called hope and optimism. Like a flower which blossoms and glistens in golden sun, happiness crossed most of our life to create a boost called HOPE.
Shades of emotions:
However good one are at emotional quotient, still there exists scenario's for emotional outburst. I always prefer to be a loose sand rather to be a hard stone .I feel to let my emotions out at proper situations to express my views and concerns. There were times which made me to break but at the same time which made to bounce back with the sanguine approach.
Two major shades (Emotion and Elation) which makes our life to move further and take up challenges.
A turn back:
1.Little did i know about the effects of optimism and positive approach.2009 taught me the results of being positive. I vouch for every hard situation you face there exists a sweet result. The crown of success will embellish your head for sure.
2. Take life as it comes: A powerful and prowess liner which i learnt.
3.I learnt\learn a lot from every one of you around me. I thank god for meeting some real nice people who act as a mentor ,a friend ,a person who motivates me. All i can say is "It is you people who made to witness a drastic change in me and to cuddle every situation as it comes. Kudos to you all guys”.
4.The great P(Patience):No i am not a queen of patience rather i can rate myself at the extreme other end. But still i love to be cool and calm at the most demanding situations. I am still a novice in the path of attaining patience.
5 .Mind your words: Words are so powerful they can create a relationship at the same time they can break one. I realize the value of words and i try to use proper word at right time.
6.Last but not the least. I learnt the art of smiling even at the worst scenario and feel contended with whatever i have.
I thank you all people, who made my life brighter ,who heard my nitwits and dunce words, Who cuddled me when i cried(hugs!!!) ,who motivated me to take challenges .May you all have a great life ahead .My whole hearted wishes are there for every one of you. Let the year 2010 brings loads and loads ,tonnes and tonnes of good luck and may you get the beststest of best things in this world.
